In recent months, we’ve seen a few questions and concerns raised online about London Bridge Business School (LBBS), particularly around our honorary awards and the nature of our institution.
We believe in facing these concerns openly and respectfully. At LBBS, we welcome public dialogue, and we believe in doing so with clarity, not defensiveness. In this article, we want to address a few of the common misconceptions directly, while reaffirming who we are, what we do, and what we stand for.
First, Let’s Set the Record Straight
LBBS is a UK-registered executive education platform. We are not a traditional university, and we do not currently award academic degrees through formal study. Instead, we focus on leadership development programmes, global events, and symbolic honorary recognitions for distinguished individuals.
Our honorary doctorate award is a non-academic honour. It is not equivalent to a PhD or a professional doctorate earned through coursework or research. We do not claim otherwise, and we go to great lengths to make this distinction clear.
Are Honorary Awards at LBBS “Sold”?
No. Our honorary awards are not for sale. They are not given in exchange for payment or favour. Every nominee goes through a structured review process, overseen by the LBBS Board of Recognition and Awards. This board assesses eligibility based on measurable impact, leadership contribution, ethical standing, and public influence.
It is true that recipients cover participation costs for award ceremonies, documentation, and logistics. This is standard practice among many leadership institutions and does not influence the selection or approval process in any way.
Why We Recognise Leaders
At LBBS, we believe leadership is not just about titles, it’s about impact. Our honorary awards are designed to recognise individuals who are driving positive change in business, government, education, technology, the arts, and society.
People who lead with integrity. Who empower others. Who innovate for the greater good.
We have honoured global entrepreneurs, educators, changemakers, community builders, and public servants. This is not about status. It is about service.
What We Stand For
While we are not perfect (and no institution is), we are deeply committed to:
- Integrity in our processes and messaging
- Transparency in how we operate
- Excellence in our leadership content and experiences
- Global impact that transcends borders and backgrounds
We know our work speaks for itself, but we also understand that clarity matters, especially in a noisy digital world.
Our Academic Journey
LBBS is in the process of securing full academic accreditation, and this is already at an advanced stage. Once completed, we will be in a position to offer degree programmes in addition to our executive education and honorary recognitions.
Until then, we remain clear and honest about what we offer, and what we do not.
Talk to Us
We encourage journalists, students, alumni, partners, and the general public to reach out if they have questions. Our doors are open.
Rather than speculate, we invite conversations rooted in facts and mutual respect.

Final Thoughts
Critique, when fair, makes institutions stronger. We welcome scrutiny because we have nothing to hide. What matters most to us is how we serve, who we honour, and why we exist.
LBBS will continue doing what we do best: delivering quality executive education, fostering global leadership, and celebrating the people making a difference in the world.
